Jzovce is a relatively recent moniker used by Thomas Bel, founder of the Distant Voices label and the creative force behind numerous albums under his own name or various aliases. Inspired by the work of Georges Didi-Huberman, Génie du non-lieu, this EP remains a faithful embodiment to the musician's decade-long dogma and rigor: A black metal marked by deadly sincerity, hermit-like, evading the standardization of a genre with its unpolished recordings. If you're not a fan of this kind of music, we don't think this album will change your mind – haunted guitars and screams, aggressive drum beats, with only a few breaks and the final track to let us taste the more acoustic side of this project. There's no compromise in the Bel's artistic fervor, and this new Jzovce's EP is another indelible axe blow on an already impressive discography.
