Parallèles is a collaborative EP between two entities we've been following for over a decade. Almeeva is one of the many projects of multi-instrumentalist and producer Grégory Hoepffner, showcasing his love for dreamy dance music. While we released his second EP II under this moniker, he's also credited on more than 10 releases in our catalog. As Toucan, originating from the post-rock and metal scene, they found their singularity through an inventive and cinematic use of synthesizers, creating complex and progressive sonic landscapes. Our partnership started with their debut De Nuit in 2014, and Vision was one of the last releases before our timeskip. A strong fellowship we're happy to expose with Parallèles. Its story started just after their first collaboration on the track Neon Knight featured on the previous Toucan LP Destinations. They both started to work from a distance, refining their visions and craft, united by years of friendship and a taste for pushing sonic boundaries. The collective approaches dancefloor and synthetic trance sounds with a kind of innocence and naivety that expands the evocative nature of their musical universes. Far from an awkward electro-rock crossover or avant-garde abstraction, these 4 tracks exhibit an organic passion through human eyes, marveling at what the world has to offer. The idea of quietly gatecrashing historic locations is at the heart of the record : places to get lost and misstep, yet still be filled with the world’s light.. From Nagoya to Ibiza, via London & Rome, this EP is like an accelerated trip where the dance and cloudy hooks of Almeeva collide with the analog arpeggiators and the progressive retro-futurism of Toucan. Together, they build a club with no ceiling, a place where you can forget yourself under a looped sunrise time-lapse.
