SYLVIA MONNIER | Second Thought
For his Sylvia Monnier project, the french artist Mickael Perez focuses on a musical approach resolutely based on the drone. Nevertheless, as the ideas are taking shape, his approach is regularly phagocyted by other styles, particularly ambient music. It’s this growing absorption, this occasional and soothing shock of the opposites that fascinates us so much on Second Thought, his new cassette.

CÉTIEU | Ceiling Stories
Just as an impressionist painter places emphasis on the accurate depiction of light and it’s changing qualities, Mrozowicka focuses on small details and blurred emotions to create introspective and ethereal pieces, sonic places where our mind can wander through space and time without limits.

PLEBEIAN GRANDSTAND | Lowgazers
From the first notes of “Thrvst”, the band reaches new heights of intensity, switching from inhuman blast beats to slow-motion torture, while unorthodox guitar work and painfully shrieked vocals tear the listener from all quarters

ORME | Debut
Neither melancholic nor wholly nostalgic, the 4 instrumental tracks on this debut EP are as full of life as they are frozen in time, alternating between peaceful rides and syncopated turns, somewhere between the progressive-folk of James Blackshaw and a certain Balkanic heritage.

DAMIAN VALLES | Extrusions
After years of work, the Canadian multi-instrumentalist knows how to play with your feelings and succeeds, once again, in creating a dense eclectic journey… Let your mind get lost in this sea of cryptic vibrations before being swallowed entirely by room-filling drones…

SÁDON | Fire+Water
During 50 minutes Sádon increase their remarkable range of emotions, each track bringing up new elements, like the dronish opening “Desolation” that ends in a ghostly groove, or the eerie “Water Started” that sounds like if Birds of Passage stole Wayne Coyne’s drugs.

MISERY | Mélancolie
Co-produced with our Toulouse-mates Distant Voices, this new EP by MISERY is a cluster of sorrow. The title perfectly resumes what you’ll hear on this tape, “Mélancolie” is full of understated melodies and deep sadness, but don’t expect any romanticism.

APPALACHE | Achievement March
Recorded on a parisian houseboat during the heart of summer, these 11 tracks picture a new Julien Magot, healed from his personal demons, full of life and relief… By allowing himself to sing on almost the entire album, Appalache avoids his ritual digressions and wins on all fronts, more confident and lively…

VAMPIRE SLAYER | Makeout Weird
The perfect soundtrack for a worrying night-shift, driving through half-asleep suburbs, alone with your sentimental misery and pointless desires. Vampire Slayer music is dark and has been built for lonely all-nighters.

STITCHED VISION | Headland
After a serie of fascinating tapes released through his own record label Eternal Solitude, the australian solo-artist Jason Campbell returns with “Headland”, a 40 minutes long tape, filled with his typical square-waves arpeggiators, black but blissed-out melodies pouring into a warm ocean of synthscapes.

JENS BOSTEEN | Demos 2009-2012
Stripped of their studio arrangements and closer to their original emotions, these naked versions sublime Jens’ over-sensibility, like polaroids proofs of humanity – unpolished snapshots, pure and immediate, heavy with nostalgia.

POSTDROME | Where The King Will Land
Postdrome’s music has always been abstract enough to change every time you hear it. It sends you into an unknown territory, a land of sculpted soundscapes and detailed textures where your imagination has space to grow…
